The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?

It is difficult to compress into only a few words the life-changing experience that this camp offered me. I can honeslty and whole-heartedly say that I have never before met such kind and loving people. The men and women working at this Summer Camp are genuine of heart and full of spirit, and I feel as though they have become my close friends. They genuinely care about their students, and try their best to offer a safe and loving enviornment. Each and everyone single one of them is a special person with their own unique stories, experiences, and knowledge to share with visitors, and are available to talk to over any problem one may have. The Villa itself reflects this beauty, a gorgeous house dating back to the second world-war, not at all far away from Berlin's city-centre, framed by gorgeous oaks and a quaint, comfortable neighbourhood. Every week-day, classes are given, and in my four week stay I have been able to become conversational in German when upon my arrival I knew almost nothing. The classes alone are genuinely worth one's money. Everyday, food is given to students by a dilligent and caring kitchen staff who really do care about each and every person sitting in their dining room. As a vegetarian, I felt that my needs were always accomodated; they are happy to offer meals to students with dietary restrictions. My only negative review would be over the sleeping arrangements; with so many students attending, it's only a given that many people would have to sleep in the same room and the beds are not the most comfortable; aside from this, however, it is hard for me to find anything negative to say, so don't let this stop you from attending. The house is kept clean, especially the toilets and showers; soap and shampoo are even provided for you, which is definitely a plus. Everyday your chaperons will offer a myriad of fun and exciting activities, to help you with your German and introduce you to Germany's capital and way of life. I have been to some many places around the city, some of which you wouldn't find on a tourist-guide, and after a month have grown to feel as if it were a home away from home. It genuinely saddened me when I had to go, but I would genuinely love to come back again! This is an experience you won't want to miss!

Your recommendations for other students

I would definitely recommend this camp. I can promise you that you will feel as if you were living in a home away from home, and it is a guarantee that you will meet many wonderful people; not to mention the educational benefits of learning another language and experiencing a new culture. I would tell you to take it easy upon arrival and to realise that somebody will be there to have your back. It can definitely be scary to live in a foreign Country, especially if it's your first time travelling alone, but the house-staff will always be there for you; don't hesitate to go to them if you have a problem! Be sociable and talk to people, I can promise that you will make friendships that will last you a lifetime! Take the leap and do it, I promise you that you won't regret it!
